Services at OZ
Religious Services
at OZ
We offer a full compliment of religious services, from daily
minyan to Shabbat and Festival worship.
Our Friday evening
service is "havurah-like". All present are encouraged
to participate in tuneful and meaningful liturgical songs,
often accompanied by guitar. These services are led by Rabbi
Joshua, and Associate Rabbi David. Small children are encouraged
to attend, as are their parents. All Friday evening services
begin at 6:00pm.
Our Shabbat morning
service is traditional, without the use of instrumental accompaniment.
This worship service includes removing the Torah ceremoniously
from the Ark. After a procession around the sanctuary, the
Torah scroll is read using ancient melodies of biblical cantillation
(trope). Following services, we all enjoy a Kiddush where
we greet our neighbors with a "Shabbat Shalom".
All Saturday morning services begin at 9:00am.
Our daily minyan
service is held every evening at 7:00pm and additionally on
Sunday morning at 9:00am. By attending these services, we
offer support to members of our community who are saying Kaddish
for a deceased family member.
