Religious Services
We offer a full complement of religious services, from daily minyan to Shabbat and Festival worship.
Our Friday evening Kabbalat Shabbat service is "havurah-like". All present are encouraged to participate in joyous and meaningful liturgical songs as we welcome Shabbat. Once a month during our Folk Kabbalat Shabbat service, our singing is accompanied by guitar and other instruments. These services are led by Rabbi Jan and are usually followed by potluck vegetarian dinners at the OZ House around the corner from the synagogue on North St. Small children are encouraged to attend, as are their parents. All Friday evening services begin at 6:00 PM.

Our Shabbat morning service is traditional, without the use of instrumental accompaniment. This worship service includes removing the Torah ceremoniously from the Ark. After a procession around the sanctuary, the Torah scroll is read using the ancient melodies of biblical cantillation (trope). Following services, the entire comminity joins together to enjoy a Kiddush where we greet our neighbors with a "Shabbat Shalom." All Saturday morning services begin at 9:00 AM.
Our daily minyan services are held every weekday and Sunday evenings at 7:00 PM and additionally on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM. By attending these services, we offer support to members of our community who are saying Kaddish for a deceased family member.
